Welcome to Crack Cocaine Freedom

Cocaine is a crystalline tropane alkaloid that is obtained from the leaves of the coca plant. The name comes from "coca" in addition to the alkaloid suffix -ine, forming cocaine. It is both a stimulant of the central nervous system and an appetite suppressant.

Crack cocaine is a solid, smokable form of cocaine. It is a freebase form of cocaine that is made using baking soda in a process to convert cocaine hydrochloride (powder cocaine) into methylbenzoylecgonine (freebase cocaine). Most crack addicts call crack "rock" because of its shape. The name "crack" comes from the "sound" it makes when it is being smoked.

Although crack is made from powder cocaine, it is far from being just another type of cocaine.  The truth is, crack cocaine is NOT just another form of cocaine. The reality is it is in a whole different category. The intense rush gives instant gratification and the high is so short that the body demands MORE! The anticipation a crack user feels when searching for cocaine goes beyond addiction. Crack cocaine possesses your soul.

Crack cocaine robs you of any integrity, responsibility, or purpose one may have in their life. To say that crack is morally wrong or bad is an understatement. To understand that it is something that brings on sorrow, distress, and calamity is only the beginning of understanding this hideous drug. Crack Cocaine in and of itself is no more than a substance. To a non-user to look at it and hold it is no more exciting than holding a small pebble. However, to the person who has used and become possessed by this seemingly harmless white rock, it is the source of all that is dark and hopeless. The crack user  will get weak in the knees, his heart will pound, and his stomach will tighten and churn the second he sees it. To a crack addict, it is not just a white, rock shaped substance, it is food, water, medicine, joy, misery, and life. A life that will ultimately progress into a deep, dark path to destruction.

There are many methods that people have used for decades to get help for their substance abuse problems. Unfortunately, most of them will not work for crack cocaine. The statistics on recovery for crack addiction are dismal. Approximately 97% of crack cocaine addicts will go back out and start using within one week of completing a 12-Step in patient rehabilitation program.  I am not saying that a 12-Step program "will not" work for a crack addict, but statistically speaking, their chances of success are not very good.

I struggled with this addiction for five years. During those five years I was in and out of three 12 step in-patient rehabs, four 12 step out-patient rehabs, worked with 5 different psychiatrist who prescribed me more varieties of drugs then I care to remember, saw 6 different medical doctors, was taken to the emergency room four different times for overdoses and lived with 4 different relatives at various times to try and escape crack. Nothing worked.

I have created this website and support forum, not only for other addicts, but for myself as well. Fighting a crack addiction requires support from others and faith in God. Proverbs 15:22 says "Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. This website is for those who want to support each other in our fight against the most addictive substance known to man.
